Upcoming TV worth recording (UK)

In this section we draw attention to programmes with bioethical content that are due to be broadcast in the next couple of weeks. Some will be classics we know and love (and may have posted on previously), others will be brand new and will be listed in the hope that they deliver the goods. If you spot something coming up and we haven’t listed it yet, please do let us know.

Cracking the Ocean Code, in which Craig Venter discussed his work harvesting novel genes from organisms in the sea. Also on Monday 16th November (11:00, 60 mins)

Tuesday 17th November, classic 1970s thriller Coma is on TCM (23:05, 125 mins)

Friday 27th November, Paramount Comedy are showing Kenny dies, an episode of anarchic comedy South Park with excellent potential as an introduction to stem cell therapy (21:00, 30 mins).

Season 2 of the bioethics-laden medical drama Private Practice is on Living TV. Be warned it is not suitable to show the episode in its entirity with school-age students due to other content in the show.

The Big Questions continues on BBC1 on Sunday mornings at 10 am and often has bioethical topics as one of the 3 issues per episode that are covered. See a list of bioethical topics covered in the series thus far.

    Hi Jane

    I’m not sure if I see things in a different format as it’s “my” page but I don’t see a date at the top. I’m guessing it may say June 2008. If so, that’s the date that the page was first created and seems to still be there even though the page gets updated weekly (ok, not weekly, I’m human and I sometimes forget).

    If there is a different issue I’d be grateful for clarification!

    I followed the biotutor link and it had june 9th 2008 under the heading.

    Since navigating away then back it has disappeared.

    I am planning to make an online resource on Genetic Engineering shortly which is why I was interested in these programmes
